What are they?

A life spent smiling, frowning, laughing or any other expression that allows the face to move will, over time, cause fine lines and wrinkles to appear. Muscles in the face which move repetitively, in particular around the eyes, mouth and forehead start to form lines and marks on the skin that we know as wrinkles.

What are they?

As well as crow’s feet, one of the markers of time around the eyes are tear troughs and dark circles. These typically appear under the eyes, presenting themselves as eye bags, dark circles and sunken, hollow skin below the eye which occur from dehydration, loss of volume and pigmentation.

What is it?

Usually occurring from age 60 and upwards, the unfortunately named ‘Turkey Neck’ happens when skin elasticity from the neck downwards is lost through weakening of the neck muscles, creating loose folds of skin. What is it?

A gummy smile is when smiling, laughing or talking produces a large area of gum above the teeth and below the upper lip. This usually happens because the upper lip extends too far upwards due to overactive muscles or it may be that the upper lip is thin, therefore exposing more of the gum.
